Phase 2 of The House Behind The Trees ~ The downstairs #TeelsBuildaHouse

So we are starting the downstairs ... I HATE to say basement because we had a basement in our old home, where you opened a door and went down stairs separated from anything else. It was a finished basement complete with a bedroom, craft room, family/game room and we spent a lot of time there ~ our oldest son moved down there in jr high and stayed through high school ... until we finished the master suite in the attic then he moved back up to the bedroom floor with his brother and sister.  So here our downstairs is open to the rest of the house, you can see through to the outside from the top of the stairs going down because we have a wall of windows down there as well.  We really didn't plan to have a kiddo down there but since we are having to do a switch-a-roo with rooms (I'll explain later) he is moving home soon and will be downstairs. Anyhoo, our downstairs will house our main family room, our middle sons room, a full bath and kitchenette.  I thought it would be fun ...

Wait for the Lord

"and observe what the LORD your God requires: Walk in his ways, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and requirements, as written in the Law of Moses, so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go." 1 Kings 2:1-3

If you've been praying for the Lord to move on your behalf for a situation (like I have been for several months), it may seem or you may feel that He hasn't heard you. When we pray, we have to wait for Him. That means that we have to look for, expect and hope in Him through this process because He is preparing us for the victory! If He just answered our prayers, our life changing prayers such as the one I have been waiting on, we would not have learned the lesson that He is wanting us to learn through this situation. We would be more likely to repeat the steps that brought us to this place of trial and tribulation. Instead He is preparing you and me for something, something BIG, something wonderful, that we can only give Him credit for, not something that we accomplished or through our prayers alone.....

Of course it is our prayer that He is going to answer BUT it is our willingness to continually seek Him through this trial - learning how to seek Him everyday, deny ourselves everyday, worship Him in the good and bad everyday, thanking Him for giving us everything we have and things that He has yet to do everyday! We can't just pray and walk away expecting Him to answer us and move on our behalf - He wants a relationship with us not just to be our acquaintance. It is like a parent-child relationship. You aren't going to provide for your children only when they ask for something are you? We strive everyday to provide them with their needs and desires because of our relationship with them, our love for them. We want a relationship with our children not to just be the "cash cow". The same is true with our Lord and Savior, He doesn't just want you to ask for things because quite truthfully He already knows our needs, He knew them before we did BUT He wants a relationship with us in return, before He answers ALL our prayers! He loves us MORE than we love our children.....now that is a concept that still boggles my mind! I know how much I love my kids and I just can't imagine Him loving me more than that but He does!

Keep praying for our situation, keep believing that He is working on your behalf, keep seeking Him wholeheartedly, trust Him and expect Him to move. I know trials and tribulations are part of life BUT they are still hard to go through. We just have to keep and walk in His ways while He is creating our victory - the victory that will be beyond our wildest dreams!

God I have my hope in you. I believe that you are working on my problems. I believe that you are making arrangements for my life. You are posting angels all through my walk, everywhere along my path where you already know I am going to walk. Thank you , Lord that you are a pioneer who has already gone before me and made a way for me to have victory over my life!
