Phase 2 of The House Behind The Trees ~ The downstairs #TeelsBuildaHouse

So we are starting the downstairs ... I HATE to say basement because we had a basement in our old home, where you opened a door and went down stairs separated from anything else. It was a finished basement complete with a bedroom, craft room, family/game room and we spent a lot of time there ~ our oldest son moved down there in jr high and stayed through high school ... until we finished the master suite in the attic then he moved back up to the bedroom floor with his brother and sister.  So here our downstairs is open to the rest of the house, you can see through to the outside from the top of the stairs going down because we have a wall of windows down there as well.  We really didn't plan to have a kiddo down there but since we are having to do a switch-a-roo with rooms (I'll explain later) he is moving home soon and will be downstairs. Anyhoo, our downstairs will house our main family room, our middle sons room, a full bath and kitchenette.  I thought it would be fun ...

Exceedingly, Abundantly Above and Beyond

"God . . . is able to carry out His purpose and do superabundantly, far over and above all that we dare ask or think infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams." Ephesians 3:20

When I pray about or simply meditate on all the people who are hurting, I have a strong desire to help them all ~ I guess that is why I am a teacher! I have such a desire to listen to others and offer what I can to help them in anyway ~ again I guess that is why my minor is in Psychology! However, sometimes I feel (and know) that my desire is bigger than my ability, but it is not bigger than God's ability! When the thing we are facing in our lives looms so big in our eyes that our mind goes "tilt," we need to think in the spirit.

In the natural, many things are impossible but in the supernatural-spiritual realm, with God nothing is impossible. God wants us to believe for great things, wants us make big plans, and wants us to expect Him to do things so great it leaves us with our mouths hanging open in awe! James 4:2 tells us that we have not because we ask not! We can be bold in our asking even if you don't think it's possible......because it is possible!

Sometimes we approach our prayers and sheepishly ask if we can "request just two things and I won't ask for anything again". That is wrong thinking! We can ask God for all we want to, not just "two things", as long as we trust Him to do it His way and in His timing.

Heavenly Father, thank you for giving my great desires that can be done only through you, when I lean on you and wait for these desires to come to pass in your timing and not my own! Amen
