Phase 2 of The House Behind The Trees ~ The downstairs #TeelsBuildaHouse

So we are starting the downstairs ... I HATE to say basement because we had a basement in our old home, where you opened a door and went down stairs separated from anything else. It was a finished basement complete with a bedroom, craft room, family/game room and we spent a lot of time there ~ our oldest son moved down there in jr high and stayed through high school ... until we finished the master suite in the attic then he moved back up to the bedroom floor with his brother and sister.  So here our downstairs is open to the rest of the house, you can see through to the outside from the top of the stairs going down because we have a wall of windows down there as well.  We really didn't plan to have a kiddo down there but since we are having to do a switch-a-roo with rooms (I'll explain later) he is moving home soon and will be downstairs. Anyhoo, our downstairs will house our main family room, our middle sons room, a full bath and kitchenette.  I thought it would be fun ...

The New Has Come ~ No Good Thing Will Be Withheld

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” 2 Corinthians 5:17

As a believer in Jesus, you are a new creation ~ you have a new spirit and a new life! There may be “old” things in your life that you are trying to get rid of, maybe you have old habits or addictions that you want to change so today (as is everyday) the new has come, His mercies are new every single morning.

It’s a new year with new opportunities, and it’s time for you to be a new you. Let this be the year that you break old habits and addictions, the year that you move forward into a new life of victory, the year that you take hold of all the spiritual blessings the Lord has promised to ALL of us ~ peace, health, protection and victory.

What "new" things do you need from the Lord today? Do you need peace, provision or guidance? The Word of God promises that no good thing will He withhold from those who walk blamelessly before Him ~ "For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.” Psalm 84:14. You may be thinking, “I’m not perfect so how can I have a blameless walk?” The Good news is that when you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you automatically have a new, blameless walk. The past is erased in God’s eyes. And sure, you may make mistakes from time to time, but 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Be encouraged today because no matter what is happening in your life right now, you have a chance for a new beginning, nothing will be withheld! Choose to leave the old behind ~ the old behaviors, the old thinking, the old words, and the old mindsets and instead embrace the NEW YOU by faith. Trust that He is leading you, declare His Word over your life and embrace the blessings that He has prepared for you!

Understand today that God wants to pour His favor and honor on you ~ we have to trust Him, embrace Him and let Him lead. If you feel like there is anything in your life that you need to be cleansed from, go to Him today and confess it ~ let Him make you new so that you can receive the good things He has in store for you! Make this your best year yet!

Heavenly Father, thank You for making me new. I choose today to leave behind the old life and ask that You empower me by Your spirit. Help me to understand Your plan and know the truth of Your Word that sets me free. Search my heart and lead me in our everlasting way. Thank You Lord God for loving me and choosing to pour out Your favor and blessing on me today and for giving me a new beginning, making me blameless in Your eyes, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
