Phase 2 of The House Behind The Trees ~ The downstairs #TeelsBuildaHouse

So we are starting the downstairs ... I HATE to say basement because we had a basement in our old home, where you opened a door and went down stairs separated from anything else. It was a finished basement complete with a bedroom, craft room, family/game room and we spent a lot of time there ~ our oldest son moved down there in jr high and stayed through high school ... until we finished the master suite in the attic then he moved back up to the bedroom floor with his brother and sister.  So here our downstairs is open to the rest of the house, you can see through to the outside from the top of the stairs going down because we have a wall of windows down there as well.  We really didn't plan to have a kiddo down there but since we are having to do a switch-a-roo with rooms (I'll explain later) he is moving home soon and will be downstairs. Anyhoo, our downstairs will house our main family room, our middle sons room, a full bath and kitchenette.  I thought it would be fun ...

Can You Handle It? Yes You Can!

“Let him take hold of My strength, that he may make peace with Me...” Isaiah 27:5

Isaiah said, “Take hold of His strength.” When we make this declaration, “I can handle it,” that’s us not just being positive, it's us taking hold of strength ~ strength that only He can give to us! Also when we declare it, we get stronger, that’s why the scripture says, “Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.”

If we’re always talking about the problem saying, “I can’t stand this job.” “This teacher is so difficult. I’ll never pass this course.” “My loved one didn’t make it. I don’t know what I’m going to do.”, all that does is drain us. When we talk defeat such as this, our strength is leaving, our energy is leaving, our creativity is leaving. We can’t let these things overwhelm us ~ we are not victims off Satan's ploys, instead we are victorious through Him!

He will take what is meant for our harm and use it to our advantage, including that difficult boss or teacher. That difficulty won’t defeat us, it will promote us into the life of blessing and victory He has in store for us!

No matter what comes our way, we can handle it, we can be ready for it if we stay in agreement with God declaring I CAN!

Father, thank You for Your grace and mercy in my life. Thank You for giving me the strength to handle anything that comes my way. I love You and receive Your empowerment in every area of my life in Jesus’ name! Amen.
