Phase 2 of The House Behind The Trees ~ The downstairs #TeelsBuildaHouse

So we are starting the downstairs ... I HATE to say basement because we had a basement in our old home, where you opened a door and went down stairs separated from anything else. It was a finished basement complete with a bedroom, craft room, family/game room and we spent a lot of time there ~ our oldest son moved down there in jr high and stayed through high school ... until we finished the master suite in the attic then he moved back up to the bedroom floor with his brother and sister.  So here our downstairs is open to the rest of the house, you can see through to the outside from the top of the stairs going down because we have a wall of windows down there as well.  We really didn't plan to have a kiddo down there but since we are having to do a switch-a-roo with rooms (I'll explain later) he is moving home soon and will be downstairs. Anyhoo, our downstairs will house our main family room, our middle sons room, a full bath and kitchenette.  I thought it would be fun ...

Ideal Image Laser Hair Removal ~ A Real, True Review of the Process. My experience

{I wanted to wait until I was nearly finished with my treatments to give a true, accurate, helpful review of my experience with the Ideal Image laser hair removal process. I have now been reduced to going every 10-12 weeks for spot treatments only and then will be reduced to if/as needed treatments after that, which is a cut from the 6-8 week intervals that you go to when you begin.} Here is my review.........

If you are like me, the older I got and the more babies I had (I have 3 kiddos) my hormones got crazy out of whack! One of the terrible "side effects" of this combination was faster, thicker hair growth on my legs, UGH! I could shave in the morning and by evening I needed to shave again. I was sick to death of constantly shaving, all the knicks and cuts because my legs are very thin and boney and even having to plan my wardrobe around whether my legs would be seen or not! So a year ago I told my husband that for my 40th birthday I wanted to do laser hair removal. I read reviews, talked with ladies I know who've done it and then met with a consultant at Ideal Image to see if I would be a good candidate for the process.

I started the process in February 2013. It is painful like a million little rubber bands being snapped on your legs BUT if you've ever used an epilator, you'll be fine, it's the same feeling. I have been 7 times now over the last 13 months and I can tell you that I am 99% hair free! I haven't shaved my legs in over 4 months, YIPPEE! Now it took a year to get this to this point because it is a process, but in my opinion and experience it was money well spent! I would also recommend starting in Late August when you won't be in the sun as much, as you can't be in the sun during the time you are going through the process, which is typically a year. I started in February which put me at the height of my treatments during the summer months, UGH! And having a pool, a beach vacation planned and a kiddo who loves to swim, it was challenging trying to find beach pants that I could wear while outside lounging by the water. I did manage though with the help of some serious sunscreen and of course, my be-loved beach pants!

For you to get a better idea of what this whole process entails, I will give you a list of pros and cons that are my opinion only so please take it as such and nothing more =)

Pros:
Smoother legs
Can wear anything baring your legs without thinking "I can't wear that because I need to shave"
No more razor burn
Don't have to worry about getting goose bumps with the crazy hair standing on in because of them
No more knicks or cuts
NO more shaving, Enough Said!

Cons:
Cost, it's not CHEAP
Time, it takes several appointments and months
Painful if you're not pain tolerant
Can't be in the sun during the time you are being treated

I know this isn't for everyone and some might not be candidates based on hair color and skin type, BUT if you've been contemplating it and are a candidate, I vote GO FOR IT! And my own disclaimer ~ I don't work for nor am I affiliated in any way with Ideal Image, this is only a personal review of my experience!
