Phase 2 of The House Behind The Trees ~ The downstairs #TeelsBuildaHouse

So we are starting the downstairs ... I HATE to say basement because we had a basement in our old home, where you opened a door and went down stairs separated from anything else. It was a finished basement complete with a bedroom, craft room, family/game room and we spent a lot of time there ~ our oldest son moved down there in jr high and stayed through high school ... until we finished the master suite in the attic then he moved back up to the bedroom floor with his brother and sister.  So here our downstairs is open to the rest of the house, you can see through to the outside from the top of the stairs going down because we have a wall of windows down there as well.  We really didn't plan to have a kiddo down there but since we are having to do a switch-a-roo with rooms (I'll explain later) he is moving home soon and will be downstairs. Anyhoo, our downstairs will house our main family room, our middle sons room, a full bath and kitchenette.  I thought it would be fun ...

My 2014 Easter Picks from Crate and Barrel for decorating, dining, eating, crafting and of course HUNTING!

Pastel Design Eggs ~ Each decorative egg in this set is crafted of kara wood, which is hand turned on a lathe and then expertly painted in a springy palette of sunny pastels. Crafted by skilled Indian artisans, the eggs are eco-friendly and non-toxic, and, best of all, the income derived from their sale provides much-needed funds for a local hospital. Packaged in an egg crate, this delightful set makes a great hostess gift or basket-filler.

Bunny Stamp Kit ~ Big bunny stamps its charming image on blank cards, for Easter or springtime greetings with a hand-crafted look. Set includes stamp, pink ink pad and eight blank cards and envelopes made of 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper.

Chick n' Egg Dishtowels ~ Easter-themed cotton towels combine a scattering of multicolored peepers and a modern graphic of translucent, overlapping colored eggs.

Stack the Carrots ~ Family-friendly carrot stacking game challenges players to take turns removing carrot-shaped blocks from the stack, topped with a precarious bunny that could take a playful tumble at any moment.

Individual Riegelein Foil Bunny ~ As darling as they are delicious, these whimsical figures are an Easter favorite from Germany's renowned Riegelein Confiserie, creators of classic chocolate confections for over 50 years. Produced from a traditional family recipe using only natural ingredients, molded milk chocolate rabbits come wrapped in a random mix of colorful foil wrappers illustrated with friendly bunny features.

Wooden Egg Placecard Holders ~ Which came first, these diminutive egg placecard holders or your desire to throw a brunch or dinner party? Smooth, unfinished birch eggs are slotted to hold your choice of placecard or buffet labels.

Bunny Placecard Holder ~ Bright little critter adds a lighthearted note to the holiday table. Handcrafted in silvery aluminum, our place-finding bunny stands upright to clasp placecards, buffet labels or notes

Egg Crate ~ Sturdy steel wire is powdercoated in yolk-yellow to nest a dozen raw or hard-boiled eggs for storage and festive presentation.

The Long Grove Confectionery Lammie or Bunny Chocolate Pop ~ For an Easter party favor or basket boost, this dimensional lambs pop charms with a whimsical tilt to his head and "fuzzy" forelock. Hand-decorated pop is solid, creamy milk chocolate, hand-trimmed and nestled in an individual cello bag with bow. The Long Grove Confectionery first began making our delicious chocolates and confections by hand in 1977 in a small kitchen in their family-owned candy shop in a little red schoolhouse in the historic village of Long Grove, Illinois. More than 35 years later, we're still sweet on their highest-quality ingredients—pure chocolate, dairy-fresh whipping cream, whole butter, creamy caramel and more.

Aluminum Bunny Server ~ Just in time for Easter edibles, two sculptural, stylized rabbits support a curved serving tray in hand-cast aluminum with a beautiful, gleaming mirror finish.

Plaid Bunny Dishtowel ~ A plaid rabbit sneaks onto the scene on our whimsical spring dishtowel. Multicolored bunny is appliquéd in bright green on a coordinating grass green background.
