Phase 2 of The House Behind The Trees ~ The downstairs #TeelsBuildaHouse

So we are starting the downstairs ... I HATE to say basement because we had a basement in our old home, where you opened a door and went down stairs separated from anything else. It was a finished basement complete with a bedroom, craft room, family/game room and we spent a lot of time there ~ our oldest son moved down there in jr high and stayed through high school ... until we finished the master suite in the attic then he moved back up to the bedroom floor with his brother and sister.  So here our downstairs is open to the rest of the house, you can see through to the outside from the top of the stairs going down because we have a wall of windows down there as well.  We really didn't plan to have a kiddo down there but since we are having to do a switch-a-roo with rooms (I'll explain later) he is moving home soon and will be downstairs. Anyhoo, our downstairs will house our main family room, our middle sons room, a full bath and kitchenette.  I thought it would be fun ...

DIY Outdoor Storage ~ Create your own outdoor organization system to simply your storage needs. Whether you're looking to keep your gardening tools straight or hold outdoor entertaining supplies, there's a storage solution for everyone.

Patio Buffet Table
Corral your outdoor dining utensils in one concentrated space with a homemade patio table. Sturdy, outdoor-designed fabric hides the shelving below the storage unit that doubles as a buffet table when guests come to visit.

Outdoor Desk
Create a space to host all your outdoor supplies, including chalk, toys, and more, with a simple garage desk. Hang hooks nearby to hold umbrellas and other outdoor gear; chalkboard signs and bright colors give the space an indoor-outdoor appeal.

Cinderblock Furniture
Creating tables and benches out of concrete cinderblocks provides ample space for outdoor storage and places to plant greenery, too. The holes in the blocks are the perfect space to keep outdoor belongings.

Garden Organization Center
Create a one-stop-shop for all of your gardening tools with a latticework wall hanging and industrial table. The space is both beautiful and functional when adorned with garden-theme artwork and potted plants.

Outdoor Bar Cart
Create a storage area for outdoor entertaining with a rolling shelving unit. You can use the bottom part to hold your accoutrements while the top serves as an entertaining area.

Outdoor Patio Bar
Create an entertaining epicenter on your patio or back porch for a place to hold all your outdoor glassware and bar utensils. Shelving provides ample space for storing the wares; a table gives a spot for entertaining.

Wooden Swing Storage
Create a space for reading material on your front porch swing with a shelf specifically designed for books and magazines. Give the purchased shelf a personalized touch by using washi tape.
